Maternity Leave: Love for My Village

As I’m about to take my maternity leave to have my first child, I’m not feeling some of the typical first time mother feelings--fear, nervousness, or stress. Instead, I’m happy to say that I’m feeling pride. This baby is already so loved and supported that I’m truly grateful for the community we’ve built for him.

I’m also really happy for the love and support that I’ve received both personally and professionally as my family and I move forward with this new chapter. The question of whether women can “have it all” seems to sit like an elephant in the room when we make decisions like this and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to prove that we can--with the right planning, prioritization, and support system.

When I first announced that I was pregnant, I decided that I didn't want my growth plans for Merino Wealth to get pushed to the back burner. As I always do I set aggressive goals for the year including but not limited to double digit revenue growth, new team members, and a new office space. And I’m incredibly proud to say that we are on track to reach or exceed these goals! Not only are we anticipating to stay on track for all of these aggressive goals, but I’m also proud to say that I’ll be taking advantage of Merino Wealth’s 4-month Paid Family Leave Policy.

I’m also proud to say that my team at Merino Wealth has worked incredibly hard to get us to this point. I’m so proud of the work they’ve done and am thrilled to be leaving our clients in good hands. I would also like to give a special shout out to Addie Pesche who was recently promoted to Team Manager! I’m proud to say that she’s been with me since the start of Merino Wealth and will be in charge while I’m out on leave to make sure everything runs smoothly.

They say it takes a village and in this case that’s really true. And the pride I have in my village can’t be beat!
